As the federal budget remains in a precarious position and cuts lie ahead in government spending - a contraction of federal support remains a real threat to the continued growth of renewable energy. The leadership of 25X’25 says with Congress in recess - now is the time for 25x’25 partners to band together and clearly articulate the strategic national value of clean energy solutions from America’s farms, ranches and forests.
Policymakers will likely search for more cost effective ways to deliver services and focus diminishing financial resources on national priorities. 25x’25 Project Coordinator Ernie Shea says the good news is that the renewable energy vision for a new energy future provides triple bottom line results. The program called 25x’25 will create jobs and stimulate sustainable economic development; will improve our national security; and will enhance the quality of our environment.
The 25x’25 national Steering Committee has been listening carefully to its partners and allies and Shea says the message has been loud and clear. Together - we must defend and advance cost effective federal and state policies and programs needed to achieve the 25x’25 goal - and we must proactively communicate timely facts and counter misinformation on agriculture and forestry clean energy solutions.
