Purdue Junior Reigning over Indiana State Fair

She is Alyssa Garnett and she is currently reigning over the Indiana State Fair. She was crowned Miss Indiana State Fair at the conclusion of last year’s fair and her dream of becoming queen dates back to her early 4-H years in Pulaski County.

“Yes it did,” she told HAT. “I was a 7 year 4-H member and I have always looked up to the Indiana State Fair queen. In fact, I used to write the fair queens fan letters because I looked up to them so much. So to be in their shoes now is really just such an amazing experience.”

So does that mean young girls attending the fair can approach the queen?

“Yes, absolutely! I’m approachable by people of all ages.”

Garnett will be a junior business major at Purdue when classes resume this fall.
