Hoosier Farmers Evenly Divided on When They Will Begin Harvest

Indiana farmers are rather evenly divided about when they intend to begin harvest. In the Hoosier Ag Today poll, sponsored by DuPont Pioneer, producers indicated when they plan to begin harvest.  According to the poll, 32% of those responding will begin harvest this week, 34% will begin a week from now, and another 34% said they were at least 2 weeks away from harvest.

Respondents were able to express their opinions via text, web site, or twitter. The week of September 12 was the first week for the poll which will continue through the end of the year. Each week a new question will be asked.  Results are collected throughout the week and reported at the beginning on the next week.  “This is a great tool that allows growers to engage with the Network and share information and opinions that are helpful and informative to other farmers,” said Gary Truitt, President of Hoosier Ag Today.  The process is simple, anonymous, and secure and is something farmers can do while in the combine or in the office.
