Dry weather is back for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We see temps normal to above normal for most of that period, with south and southwest breezes most dominant. WE will have to keep an eye out for some scattered light action for the early morning hours Sunday through Sunday midday. But rain totals look to only be a few hundredths to a tenth or two. Coverage will be at 60%, mostly over the norther half of the state.
Back to dry weather from late Sunday through Tuesday. Temps will be slightly cooler, but still mostly normal to above normal for the period. A stronger front looks impressive over IL and WI next Tuesday night into Wednesday, but likely will fall apart as is moves into the Hoosier state. We will put rain totals right now at .25”-.75”, but will see only about 60% coverage, and that will be over the western half of the state. Eastern location s may not see much action at all at midweek next week.
So, while we see 3 threats of moisture in the next 10 days, the threats are not all that big for overall totals, and will be followed by good dry down. Therefore, we do not see this as being a major hurdle for harvest to overcome in the days ahead. Temps will be mostly normal to above normal through the upcoming period, and likely through the rest of the month…although we will take that longer term forecast one step at a time for right now.
