Early Planted Corn and Soybeans Yielding Well
The warm and dry weather that has dominated the state for the past two months has helped the early planted crop mature fast and dry down quickly, “The weather has also helped harvest move along without any major problems.” He said moisture levels have been dropping nicely over the past few weeks.
Even the soybeans, which did not look great during August and would have benefited from more rain, are still yielding well. Meachem said, “Particularly beans that got planted in April are yielding well. We have had some test plots come off with 100 bpa yields and that is phenomenal.”
