When the Miss United States Agriculture pageant takes place this June in Orlando, one of the contestants looking to win this year’s crown is Purdue student and Brookville native Bella Monroe.
Monroe, 19, was recently named the 2022 Central Indiana Miss United States.
“It is such an honor to be a role model and to not only advocate for agriculture, but for Indiana as well. I’m looking forward to traveling our beautiful state and showcasing its wonderful agriculture,” says Monroe.
Monroe is a junior at Purdue studying Agricultural Communications and Farm Management.  She graduated from Oldenburg Academy in 2020 and has already earned an Associate’s Degree.
She serves as president of Purdue ACT (Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow), is an ACT mentor and a Purdue Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication Ambassador.
Monroe has also been involved as a volunteer through Special Olympics and a Relations Officer with the Best Buddies Program.
She will compete June 24-25 at Avanti Palm Springs in Orlando, Florida for a chance to win $2,000 and a scholarship.
