When the Indiana State Fair returns this summer, Claire Bishop, Miss Hancock County 2022 (shown above), will be wearing the crown as Miss Indiana State Fair 2023. She will also be the first Miss Indiana State Fair to hail from Hancock County in the 64-year history of the pageant.
Bishop was selected Miss Indiana State Fair 2023 on Sunday from among 80 contestants each representing their home counties. She is a senior at Greenfield-Central High School and plans to attend Purdue University in the fall.
The Indiana State Fair Queen plays a key role in promoting the Indiana State Fair by traveling over 6,500 miles during June and July to more than 40 county fairs to promote the upcoming Indiana State Fair, July 28 – Aug. 20, 2023. The Indiana State Fair will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
