Hoosier Ag Today is celebrating the great game of basketball—which is also the theme of the Indiana State Fair, which “tips off” on Friday, July 28.
This year’s Indiana State Fair theme is “The State That Grew the Game”, which will combine your favorite fair traditions mixed in with immersive basketball exhibits, courts, players and more.
To join in the celebration, Hoosier Ag Today wants to see where you take your best shot in the Hoosier Ag Today Farm Hoop Photo Contest running now through July 23.
Hoosier Ag Today is looking for the coolest farm hoop setups from rural Indiana.
“I cannot wait to see all the pictures that are taken and submitted for this contest,” says Belinda Puetz, Director of Marketing with CountryMark, which is one of the sponsors of the contest.
Much like Bobby Plump and the Milan Indians who won the Indiana State Basketball Championship in 1954 and were the inspiration for the movie Hoosiers, there has been a strong connection for many years between rural Indiana and the game of basketball.
“Everybody has their opinions as to which basketball team they love the most, but we love basketball. It’s what we do in Indiana and we’re so glad that we could get to support this creative contest,” says Puetz.
CountryMark is also providing several outstanding prizes for the winners.
“We have tickets to some Purdue home basketball games that we’re going to be sharing with some of the winners,” says Puetz. “We also have a CountryMark Solo Stove, which is great for being out on the backyard roasting marshmallows and roasting hot dogs. We’ll also be sharing a drum of our CountryMark Advantage 15w40 lubricants.”
Puetz adds that she and her team with CountryMark are excited to be part of the contest—and about the celebration of two outstanding Hoosier traditions: The Indiana State Fair and basketball.
“I think it’s such a great way to create a connection between rural Indiana and basketball lovers,” says Puetz. “Many people in Indiana love basketball, so I’m hoping it’s part of that bridge and I’m hoping it creates connections.”
