Cargill Plans $17.5 Million Expansion at Montgomery County Grain Facility

.

Cargill is planning a $17.5 million expansion project at its grain marketing facility near Linden in Montgomery County. Once completed, the expansion is projected to increase capacity at the facility by 10 million bushels per year.

According to the Crawfordsville Journal Review, the expansion will include a new office building, two new large grain bins and enclosed grain conveyor belt, grain pit, and an additional lane inside the property. The company says the project is expected to be finished by July 2029.

A Cargill representative says that it is currently serving 145 trucks a day at the Linden plant, which is far more than the 100 trucks per day that the facility was originally built to handle.

The company has requested a 10-year tax abatement from the Montgomery County Council.

The Cargill grain marketing facility is located at 173 W 1100 North near Linden, which is about 10 miles north of Crawfordsville.
