Red Crown Rot and Sudden Death Syndrome continue to be a major problem in soybeans. In 2026, a new product Victrato will be released after 11 seasons of development to help reduce these issues.
“Our new product that we just received federal registration is called Victrato and it is a new tool for growers to help manage all the key soybean nematodes, microscopic Roundworms and Sudden Death Syndrome. It’s the first federally registered seed treatment for Red Crown Rot management” said Dale Ireland, technical product lead at Syngenta.
Victrato offers more protection than anything else on the market against nematodes.
Irealand said, “Its really a comprehensive seed treatment that we would like to see applied with a base fungicide insecticide, something like CruiserMaxx APX.”
2025 was an outstanding year for yields for some Indiana soybean producers while others struggled. Victrato should level those playing fields for those producers who didn’t see the yields they were hoping to in 2025.
“Theres fewer seeds being planted every year. Some of that is managing crops and some of that is they’re seeing the same performance with lower seeding rates. So when you think about seed treatment and protecting those seeds as we reduce our seeding rates and plant earlier. It’s important we protect those seeding rates and plant earlier.” Irealand adds.
Victrato can be purchased from local retailers and Syngenta crop protection reps. More information can be found at syngentacropprotectionus.com
