Indiana FFA state officers are kept busy during the month of December with over 20 Business and Industry Visits. Supporters and sponsors across the state of Indiana allow the team onsite to take a deeper look into the agriculture industry.

We’re able to get a lot of advice and insight on what those careers look like and really learn a lot about the agriculture industry as a whole.” said Kaitlyn Maruszewski, Indiana FFA State President.

Business and Industry Visits allow state officers to take a closer look into the companies and their cultures while speaking with employees about experiences in their careers. Heartland Growers was noted as one of the top visits for Maruszewski.

She shared, “I really found this visit impactful because I was able to see in real life what a career could look like for me in the future.”

Heartland Growers is the largest wholesale greenhouse in the state not only selling to vendors but also working with FFA chapters for fundraisers. Maruszewski plans to attend Purdue University to study Horticulture after her term as a state officer. Looking ahead at the remainder of her term as a state officer.

Maruszewski says, “We are really looking forward to state convention. We just started preparation for that and getting to learn a little bit more about the scope of it and what it means to be on the behind the scenes of a state convection so we’re really excited for that as well.”

With the Elliot Hall of Music at Purdue under construction the Indiana FFA State Convention will be held at The Arena at Innovation Mile.
