Agricultural giant ADM announced a new partnership with American Farmland Trust aimed at helping hundreds of farmers across the Midwest strengthen their operations as the agricultural sector navigates economic and environmental uncertainty.

The initiative will support producers in Indiana—as well as Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri through technical assistance, farmer networks and targeted grants, according to the companies.

The effort includes a $500,000 investment from ADM’s philanthropic arm, ADM Cares, and is part of the company’s broader Farm Forward Initiative — a long-term strategy focused on supporting farmers as they face shifting markets and policy changes.

Through the partnership, farmers will receive guidance on succession planning, connections to production resources and peer networks, and financial support intended to improve productivity, expand market opportunities and promote farmer well-being.

“By partnering with trusted organizations like AFT, we’re offering American farmers access to the tools, resources and support they need to strengthen their businesses, care for their land and sustain their families,” said Gary McGuigan, ADM’s senior vice president.

The announcement comes at a time when many farmers are adjusting to rapidly evolving market demands, changing global trade dynamics and ongoing volatility in the agricultural economy. Supporters of the partnership say programs that connect producers with technical expertise and financial resources could help farms remain viable across generations while strengthening rural communities.
