The employees of Ceres Solutions Cooperative have awarded 10 recipients of the cooperatives Scholarship Award to High School Seniors. Selection criteria emphasizes involvement in agricultural youth groups such as 4-H and FFA. Students must be children or grandchildren of current cooperative members or employees of the cooperative to apply for the high school scholarships. It is estimated that the co-op and its predecessor co-ops have invested more than $175,000 in scholarships in local students.
The 2018 Ceres Solutions Scholarship recipients are:
William Carey of Vincennes, IN – William is the son of Anthony and Nicole Carey and plans to attend Vincennes University and pursue an Agribusiness degree.
Hattie Duncan of Wingate, IN- Hattie is the daughter of David and Jill Duncan and plans to pursue an Animal Science degree at the University of Illinois this fall.
Connor Hanaway of Peru, IN- Connor is the son of Michael and Tricia Hanaway and will attend Purdue University as an Ag Business major.
Clay Kretzmeier of Fowler, IN- Clay is the son of John and Kristi Kretzmeier and seeks to study Ag Sales and Marketing at Illinois Central College this fall.
Olivia Mangan of Fremont, MI- Olivia is the daughter of Amy Smith and will attend Michigan State University to study plant and soil science.
Mackenzi Milner of Rockville, IN- Mackenzi is the daughter of Randy and Tamera Milner and will be attending Purdue University this fall.
John Schuler of Roann, IN- John is the son of Mike and Andrea Schuler and will study Agricultural Engineering at Purdue University this fall.
Ellie Sennett of Waynetown, IN- Ellie is the daughter of Lance and Margaret Sennett and will attend Lake Land College and pursue an agriculture degree.
Victoria Templin of Converse, IN- Victoria is the daughter of Tim and Teresa Templin and plans to attend Butler University to study pre-med.
Emma Willis of Sullivan, IN- Emma is the daughter of Pete and Reetta Willis and will head to Purdue University in the fall to study veterinary medicine.
