From AgBioScience to precision farming, the latest technology in the industry will be on display at the Forbes AgTech Summit coming to Indianapolis in less than two weeks. This will be the first time the AgTech summit has strayed from California. Paul Noglows, Founder and Executive Producer of the summit, said, “About a year and a half ago or so, Kip Tom, the largest farmer in Indiana, IEDC (Indiana Economic Development Corporation), and Agrinovus came to me and they said, ‘Hey. How can we bring this to the Midwest? How can we bring this to Indianapolis?’”

Noglows says that the speaker lineup is a who’s who of agriculture, including Kip Tom who, upon confirmation, will be the U.S. Representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture. Governor Eric Holcomb and Purdue President Mitch Daniels will also sit down for conversations with Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media.

Noglows says if you are in agriculture, then this summit is for you.

“We have a lot of farmers up on stage in conversation. It’s really for folks who are working in the industry, and it’s folks who are trying to figure out how to better their bottom line through the application of agricultural technology.”

The Purdue University Innovation Showcase will highlight over 50 of the world’s best AgTech start-ups, offering a wide variety of solutions that growers and processors can put to work in their fields and plants today. The Showcase includes both Purdue University start-ups such as CROPi, Heloponix and PICS as well as the most innovative start-ups from around the globe including Aker, Arable, Corvium, DTN, Gen3Bio, NutraMaize, OATS, Plan Bee, Sol-Chip and Solfintec. 10 of them will demonstrate those innovations at Beck’s Hybrids including AgNext, American Robotics, Rabbit Tractor, Taranis, The Bee Corp and others.

Noglows says, “This is not a futuristic conference. This isn’t talking about 2050. This is talking about 2018 and what we can do today. We’ve got companies coming from all over the world. We have autonomous soil sampling robots. We’ve got moisture and crop sensing,” and plenty more.
