Oil futures finished modestly higher on Friday, logging their first weekly gain in a month as traders looked for clues as to whether members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries will be able to complete a deal later this month to curb output.
Natural-gas futures, meanwhile, notched a weekly gain of nearly 9% as the first hints of a winter chill and bargain hunting in the wake of price losses over the last two weeks spurred buying.
